Our Training Model
At Golden Gaters Volleyball, we’re dedicated to helping athletes grow and succeed at every stage of their development. That’s why we’ve adopted a Two-System Training Model tailored to meet the needs of different age groups.
11 - 14s: Development & Foundational Skills
Emphasize in fundamental skills across all positions
Build a strong, well-rounded athletic foundation
Encourage growth, confidence, and versatility for long-term success
Focus on development, fun, and opportunities
15 - 17s: Competitive & Specialized Training
Develop position-specific skills
Prepare athletes to compete at their highest level
Enhance techniques and strategies through advanced situational and specialized drills

Our mission is to provide high-quality volleyball training. We train players to master every skill—serve, pass, set, hit, block, and dig—so they can play the complete game and apply those skills in competition.
Our History
Founded in 2024 by Matt Hoffman, Head Coach at San Francisco State, who brings over 20 years of volleyball experience in the Bay Area.
